A Drunken Night

Since both my best friend and I are now unemployed we are watching our spending very closely. We decided to drink as much as we can before we leave the house to go to the club, so that we can save money.

We thought it would be a good idea if we didn't eat much so we wouldn't have to drink alot to get drunk. That was probably a mistake!

Last night we accomplished this feat! They had free drinks from 11 - 11:30 pm. We got there just in time to have two free drinks and got in for free since we have college ID's.

I think we were headed back home with an hour or two. We had fun dancing on the dance floor even though I did fall!

I lost my friends somehow in my drunkness. So I stumbled and I mean stumbled out to my car where I found my BFF sleeping the grass next to my car. It was hilarious! So I joined him.

We didn't have the keys to my car because someone else drove my car there. So we laid there until Chris found us.

It took me allllll day to recover from last night, but it was a fun night for sure.

National Coming Out Day

Mashable posted 20+ Resources In honor of National Coming Out Day. Check 'em out!

Disney's Pleasure Island Closing

When we first heard about Pleasure Island closing we were so sad. We usually head there every Thursday night to party it up with other gays at Mannequins. We heard they were set to close September 27th. The last few Thursdays leading up to the 27th were really packed. We knew we would need to get there fairly early the final Thursday they were open in order to get in. The lines are usually really during busy events. We arrived at 9:15 pm and probably got in the door in under 30 minutes. I would say by 10:30 pm it was really packed. We waited in line at one bar for over 30 minutes to get a drink. I finally noticed someone at the front of the line and bribed him to order six drinks for me. We went ahead and ordered 2 each because we knew the chances of us getting another drink were slim. They only had one bartender at each bar other than the main bar. They lost an extreme amount of money Thursday night. We would have drank more if we didn't have to wait in line so long.

The night quickly came to an end as it seems to always do when I am having a good time. We took a few last pictures together in front of the Mannequins sign and headed out to the parking lot. Of course we had to stop in at Taco Bell on the way home and plenty of other drunks did the same thing. By time we got back I was fast asleep and exhausted. I crawled in to bed around 3:15 am and set my alarm to wake me up at 8:00 am for work.

Now we have to find a new place to deposit our money and drink away our worries at on Thursday nights. I am sure it won't take long... I saw a sign for a cute place down the road called Brick and Fire that has .50 cent drinks on Thursday nights.

My Best Friend was Fired!

Well my best friend got let go from work the other day. We didn't see it coming and I think the punishment was very harsh for the crime. He did something he shouldn't have done and he admitted it, but letting him go from a job that he put four years of work into wasn't right.

He had contemplated leaving many times because he wasn't happy. It is hard to leave a job that you have security (so he thought) at and a job that you are comfortable in. This will push him into pursuing what makes him happy and excited to go to work everyday. I always knew he would leave our job, I just didn't know that it would be this soon. He is really bright and can do anything he sets his mind to. It will be interesting to see what decisions he will make in the near future. I am sure it will be inspiring to see what he makes of himself.

I know he is uncertain of what the future holds for him and where he is going from here but I have faith that he will come out of this hiccup in the road a much happier person, on the pursuit to his dream.

Softball and Cheap Drinking!

Softball season started on Sunday. I don’t play but all of the guys do. So I went to cheer
them on at their first game. All three teams that I was cheering for lost.

Oh well… off to the club for all you can drink beer for $7.00. We drank and drank and
drank… probably $70.00 worth! I barely knew my name by time we left. I was having fun. A
bunch of friends that I haven’t seen in a while were there.

So we went back to the house to get ready and go to another club. I was still wearing my tennis outfit from the softball game. I was drunk so I didn’t care. We went to the club and watched a drag show. It was pretty good. There were no seats left so I sat on someones lap.

Then a lesbian spotted me! One of those scary ones that looks like a boy. She was yelling stuff at me down the row but I didn’t have a clue to what she was saying. She was sitting right behind my friends and they told her that I was married, she didn’t believe it. The guys lap that I was sitting on kissed me and she still didn’t believe it. After the show the guys surrounded me and went to the ladies room with me. I guess she tried to come, they told her to wait outside and they came in with me and blocked the door.

I was so drunk and couldn’t stand much longer so I went out in a friends car and went to sleep. We always stop by Taco Bell on the way home. That night once we got back to the house I took to bites and passed out on the couch. Somehow I made it to work the next morning and didn’t have a hangover.

Hurricane Gustav Headed for Southern Decadence

Some of our friends canceled their trip to Southern Decadence because of Hurricane Gustav. Not us! We were going regardless.

We flew out Friday morning and arrived in New Orleans around 10:30 am. . We took a $30.00 cab ride to the Ritz-Carlton. We checked in to this gorgeous hotel for $99.00 a night. You can't beat that!

We met up with some friends and walked to Eat and had some lunch. We walked down Bourbon Street on the way. I thought it was really cool. It looked like what I saw on t.v. but I expected the street to be wider. When they show people throwing beads off of the balconies in to the crowds on t.v. it seems like the street is wider.

After lunch, we went back to the room and took a short nap. We kept watching the hurricane updates and decided to change our flight home from Monday to Sunday. Southwest made the changes without charging us any fees. Big kudos to Southwest.

After we changed our flight we started to head down for Drag Queen Bingo at Oz. We got there too late to play and they were just starting a strip contest. That was interesting when a couple of the contestants stripped down to their birthday suits. They were handed towels to cover up their "jewels".

After the strip contest was over we started to walk from bar to bar and check out the scene. We went to a bar called The Corner Pocket. There were naked dancers up on the bar. That was first time I saw the dancers pull out their goods for bar patrons to touch!

We had one young "straight" 18 year old dancer walk up to us and pose for a naked picture with me. (I wasn't naked, he was!) He said he was really nervous. It was his 2nd night dancing and he couldn't "get it up!"

Then we headed to a few other bars and went back to Oz. That is where I laid my eyes on the hottest "straight" dancer I have seen in a really long time. We posed for a bunch of pictures together and I tipped him for a "feel"!

We walked up stairs and wrote my name and number on a napkin and I went back to the dancer and gave it to him hoping he would call... he never did!

When I was walking back to our room at the end of the night I passed protesters against gays. It took every ounce of me not to tell them where to go. People were throwing ice at them. They want people to get in a confrontation with them. So I didn't. One guy tried to hand me a pamphlet and asked "If I believe in Jesus?" I didn't say a word and kept walking.

We called it an early night because we started drinking early in the night. I got up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom and noticed a note under our door. So I turned the light on and read it.

It was from the Ritz saying that they were closing the hotel on Saturday, they didn't know when the airport was going to shut down and no rental cars are being rented out.

I started to get really sick to my stomach thinking we were going to get stuck in New Orleans. I woke up my friend that I was staying with and we woke up our friends down the hall. We had called Southwest to get an early morning flight out and every single flight was booked. We asked if they could book us on any flight to any city, we didn't care, we just wanted out of New Orleans. There wasn't a single open seat on any flight out of New Orleans on Southwest.

I started calling other airlines and we got the same story everywhere. The scary part was not knowing when the airport would shut down.

We all packed up our stuff and headed to the airport. Southwest suggested that we get on standy-by and we could possibly get on a flight. Lucky for us, the first flight we were on standy-by we got on.

There were Federal Air Marshals carrying machine guns walking up and down the concourse in the airport. I was stunned by that. I wanted to take a picture but I didn't think it was allowed, so I didn't.

So our trip to New Orleans for Southern Decadence was fun but very short lived... maybe next year.

Headed to Southern Decadence in New Orleans

I love to travel. When one of my good friends asked me to go to Southern Decadence in New Orleans I jumped at the opportunity. I haven't been to New Orleans before. This should be a fun weekend. We fly up on Friday and fly home on Monday. We got a room at the Ritz-Carlton for $129.00 a night. What a bargain! I plan on getting a massage while I am there. Their massages are amazing.
